When it comes to Japan's food, the first thing comes to mind is definitely Sushi. Even in Japan, the top one food recommended by citizen is Sushi. We can never deny how popular Sushi is. Sushi are not only welcome in Japan but also in western countries. We can see more and more Sushi restaurants launched in cities, more and more foreigners become a big fan of Sushi. While, Japanese food tradition is far richer than most of us assume, and it includes an incredible variety of dishes prepared with a wide range of ingredients and cooking techniques.
If the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about Japanese food is Sushi. Then the second one can be Ramen. Today we are going to focus on another famous Japanese recipe, Ramen. Ramen consists of noodles in a broth prepared with vegetables, meat or fish, and often flavored with soy sauce or miso. At the beginning of the 19th century there were many Chinese restaurants that offered a simple dish of Ramen. In 1958, an instant ramen was invented, which has been voted as the biggest Japanese invention of the 20th century in a survey. What makes it extremely convenient is the fact that it can be prepared by adding hot water and waiting a few minutes. Instant ramen is very common and it can be found in every supermarket. In the ‘80s ramen became a Japanese cultural icon.
